Dynamic Solutions International Introduces FileManager v1.0
FileManager provides a simplified interface to the Unisys MCP file system
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—(Oct. 28, 2009)—Dynamic Solutions International (DSI), a leading international provider of data storage solutions and comprehensive professional services for businesses and enterprises, today announced a new addition to DSI’s software product line – FileManager. As a media management system designed to work exclusively with Unisys MCP- and MCPvm- based hosts, DSI’s FileManger is completely scalable to fit any capacity requirements.
DSI’s FileManager software features a future-proof design and can integrate with multiple storage environments. This new software provides a simplified interface to the Unisys MCP file system, as well as a file tracking mechanism so that files that have been backed up may be recovered more easily. Files that are backed up by a FileManager process are recorded in the FileManager database, and a reporting system allows the user to see which files are backed up or query on files or directories for availability.
Featuring an easy to use graphical user interface (GUI), FileManager presents MCP file management in way that would be familiar to users of open systems software. In addition, FileManager backup tapes are created using the MCP standard Library Maintenance (COPY) software, which means all files backed up by FileManager may be recovered on another MCP host even if FileManager is not installed.
