Latest Generation Disk Storage

The latest generation of solid state disk solves the physical hard disk problem by replacing mechanical
devices with high speed circuitry. Instead of a rotating disk, a solid state disk uses memory chips
(typically DDR RAM) or Flash memory technology to read and write data. Solid state disk systems from
DSI have a 20 microsecond access time (250 times faster than hard disk drives) and are perfectly
matched to today’s high performance servers.

installing a single DSI SSD system. The solid state disk connects directly into servers or can be easily
added to a SAN. Solid state disk connects via standard Fibre Channel interfaces and appears as a
